Tax Day Souvenir Mugs

I have a crazy idea for helping the IRS in collecting more taxes this year. It’s a bit unconventional, but with the deficit going on in the government, extreme measures should be made. Well, ‘extreme’ is I guess too much. What I propose is they remind people of filing tax returns properly and promptly with souvenir mugs.

The idea is that the IRS place their logo on the promotional giveaway mugs to subtly tell the public that paying taxes is their obligation. This perhaps the ‘friendlier’ way of collecting taxes than scaring people with the thought that nonpayment of taxes is a crime.

The IRS can do anything on those mugs. They may a calendar and place April 15th as tax day, or put some words describing the importance of taxes. Better yet, they should put something that would convince the public that they are not the enemy.

The good thing about this tool is that is so versatile and may apply in any type of taxpayer. The agency may also use promotional giveaway barwares and carafes and give them out in bars and clubs. What a good way to spend a taxpayers “happy” hours.

These promotional giveaway coaster and drink holders could indeed help the collecting agency in building up their bad reputation. The IRS has been he most hated government agency, bar none, and they badly need something that will clean their name and help them improve their business of collecting taxes at the same time. Am i a good citizen or what?
